Jonathan M. Sparks

Jonathan M. Sparks, Ph.D., J.D. has been serving as counsel to Ocular Therapeutix since October, 2017. Dr. Sparks is a partner at McCarter & English, LLP and  has nearly 20 years of experience representing life science companies.  For the early portion of Dr. Sparks’ career he focused on counseling clients on IP-related matters, IP portfolio strategy,  and licensing transactions for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies at varying stages of product development and commercialization.   More recently, Jon has served as outside general counsel to a number of public and private life science companies.  Dr. Sparks earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Suffolk University Law School and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biophysics from Texas A&M  University.
